R5 Mark II and RF 24-105mm F4 L Lens Kit is in stock
Yesterday I wrote about the serious battery related limitations that the users will face if they don't power their R5 Mark II by the new LP-E6P batteries, which is a big reason use this battery pack exclusively. But now we have more problems: Firstly, Canon announced potential R5 II delivery delays up to 6 months due to part shortages and higher than expected orders. The only option you have in the US currently is to order the R5 II and RF 24-10mm F2.8 L lens kit version (Available at B&H Photo and Amazon) which shows 'in stock' for now, as the Body-only versions are all back-ordered.
And secondly, the new Canon LP-E6P battery packs also can't be find anywhere in stock, at least at major US retailers. SO even if you manage to score a new R5 Mark II, or already received your, you won't be able to get a spare battery for your camera. No matter how good the new batteries get, I can't imagine living life with no extra batteries. In that case, only option left will be to use the old LP-E6N(H) batteries which cripples the camera greatly.
