Update Sep 9th, 2025: Canon EOS C50 is officially announced!
Canon EOS C50 Leaked Image 1
Canon’s EOS C50, which seems to be a late answer to Sony's popular FX3, looks set for an official reveal tomorrow, September 9, 2025. Canon has already teased the launch as we reported here and here, and as usual the day-before leak arrived, three photos posted on a Facebook account show the camera from multiple angles and they look legit.

From the leaked shots, the C50 appears to inherit the Photo/Off/Video switch from the EOS R5 C (see below). On the R5 C this design forced a full power-down before swapping modes and felt veeeeery slow in practice, so we really hope Canon made it snappier on the C50.

What we can spot in the images:
-
Full-size HDMI, timecode, USB-C, mic, and remote ports on the left side
-
At least 13 programmable buttons across the body
-
Multiple mounting points on the sides and top for rigs
-
Zoom rocker for power-zoom lenses
-
Tally light and multifunction hot shoe
-
Two top control dials
-
Visible vents that strongly suggest active cooling
On the downside, the rumor mill says no IBIS ( luckily most Canon RF mount lenses features optical IS) and no built-in ND filters, two big bummers for a lot of potential users. We’ll know for sure tomorrow.
