Update November 11,2025: Canon EOS R6 Mark III and Fujifilm X-T30 III .
The recently announced Canon EOS R6 Mark II and the Fujifilm X-T30 III mirrorless cameras became the latest models to feature the Open Gate Video recording in our database. Fujifilm keeps making the Open Gate camera more accessible to the masses, first started with the cheapest model in the list, X-M5 , and now adding another sub-1K USD model to the options with the X-T30 III.
Open gate recording in cameras is beneficial for maximizing the use of the sensor's full area, capturing a wider field of view than standard aspect ratios. This provides more image data for post-production adjustments like cropping, stabilizing, and reframing.
