Fujifilm X-S20 Lens Mount and Lenses

Fujifilm X-S20 has a Fujifilm X lens mount and currently there are 84 native lenses available for this mount. Fuji is well regarded with the quality of their optics and the large selection of fast high quality prime lenses especially in the wide and normal focal range. X Mount is also well supported by offerings from third-party manufacturers.

X-S20 also has a Sensor based 5-axis Image Stabilization system which means that all of these lenses will be stabilized when used on X-S20. Fujifilm claims that the image stabilization of X-S20 is effective up to 7.0 stops. Anti-Aliasing Filter

Another important feature about Fujifilm X-S20's sensor is the lack of anti-alias (Low-pass) filter. Removing anti-aliasing filter increases the sharpness and level of detail but on the other side it also increases the chance of moiré occurring in certain scenes.

Let's look at how the size of the Fujifilm X-S20's APS-C sensor compares with other standard sensor sizes.

X-S20 has a built-in Electronic viewfinder, making it easier to shoot in direct sunlight and in other situations where it might be difficult to view the LCD monitor. The viewfinder has a resolution of 2,360kdots and coverage of 100%. 100% coverage ensures that what you see in the viewfinder while shooting matches exactly what you will get later in your image, helping accurate framing your shots and minimizes the need for cropping images later. Fujifilm X-S20 Video Features

With Fujifilm X-S20, you can record your videos at a highest resolution of 6240 x 4160 at 60p,30p,25p,24p,23.98p fps with bit rates up to 360 mbps and save in MPEG-4 and H.264 formats. This means that Fujifilm X-S20 provides an impressive 6K video, only second to 8K cameras in high resolution. Although it is not a very widely used format, it gives the user enough extra room over 4K to do cropping or high quality sampling in post-process.

    Video Resolutions Comparison Chart

A great advantage of Fujifilm X-S20 while shooting video at resolution of 4K is that there is no crop factor so you can use your lens at its actual focal length.

    No Video Recording Limit

Fujifilm X-S20 doesn't have the 30 minutes max video recording limitation that many cameras have, so you can keep recording non-stop until either your storage is full or battery is depleted or the camera over-heats.

    High-Speed Video

X-S20 features a high speed mode where it captures videos at 240fps which helps to create slow motion videos. If you shoot a video at a frame rate of 240fps and play it back at 24fps, the video will be 10x slower and longer than normal.

    Microphones, Speaker and Headphone Connections

Fujifilm X-S20 has a built-in Stereo microphone and a Mono speaker. Fujifilm X-S20 also has a port for an external microphone and a headphone port for connecting external headphones which make Fujifilm X-S20 a very suitable camera high quality videography.

    Fujifilm X-S20 Other Features

    Max Shutter speed

Fujifilm X-S20 can shoot continuously at max speed of 20.0 fps and has max shutter speed of 1/4000 sec. X-S20 also has an electronic shutter which can shoot silently at max speed of 1/32000s. One thing to keep in mind is that electronic shutter may cause rolling shutter / jello effects, and also banding issues under artificial light on your images.

    Flash

X-S20 has a built-in flash, and it also has a flash shoe to mount your external flashes too.

    Focusing

Fujifilm X-S20 features both Contrast Detection and Phase Detection autofocus (AF) systems which ensures speed and accuracy of focusing in most situations. The AF system has 425 points to choose from.

Fujifilm X-S20 also features Face detection AF where it intelligently detects the faces in the frame and locks the focus automatically. In addition to the face detect AF, X-S20 has a more sophisticated feature called Eye Tracking AF which detects and locks focus to the selected eye of the person in the frame accurately and tracks as the subject moves.
