Canon has officially announced that they are experiencing delivery delays for some products due to higher-than-expected demand and the ongoing global parts supply challenges. The Canon EOS R5 Mark II is particularly affected, with Canon stating that orders placed today could take up to six months for delivery. Here is the translated version of Canon's statement:
Currently, we are experiencing delivery delays for the following products due to more orders than expected and also due to the impact of global parts supply. We apologize to our customers and business partners for the inconvenience. Products are scheduled to be shipped one after another, but it is expected that the new camera body EOS R5 Mark II will take a long time to ship.

The R5 Mark II Body-only version is currently out of stock at major online retailers in the US. However, the R5 II w/ RF 24-105mm F4L IS USM Lens kit is in stock at B&H Photo and Amazon. If you haven't placed your order yet and don't want to wait potentially six months, this might be a good option.

I've been tracking its stock status since its introduction, but never seen it listed as 'in stock,' making it seem like it's stuck in a permanent back-order status. Alternatively, you can consider the excellent RF 100-500mm F4.5-7.1L IS USM with a Canon Extender RF 1.4x to achieve a similar reach, however this solution will be much more expensive than the 200-800mm. A cheaper option is to pair the RF 100-400mm F5.6-8 IS USM with the Canon Extender RF 2.0x but this time you will not get the same image quality for sure.
