Leica Vario-Elmarit-SL 70–200mm f2.8 ASPH
According to Leica Rumors website, Leica is going to officially announce the Leica Vario-Elmarit-SL 70–200mm f/2.8 ASPH fast aperture telephoto zoom lens, along with a 2.0x Extender (Teleconverter) for the L-mount cameras tomorrow. They have even published a leaked photo of the lens and the listing taken from Leica Camera Italy webpage which is obviously not public yet.

If the rumor turns out to be true (which we don't doubt much to be honest), this is going to be the first 70-200mm F2.8 that Leica will ever produce. The closest comparable Leica lens they have for the L-mount is the Leica APO-Vario-Elmarit-SL 90-280 mm F2.8-4 lens which is not a fixed max aperture lens. On the other hand, the lens will join the ranks of the Super-Vario-Elmarit-SL 14-24mm F2.8 ASPH, and the Vario-Elmarit-SL 24-70mm F2.8 ASPH to form the holy trio of F2.8 zoom lenses.
However, it is not going to be unique in the L-mount as we already have the Panasonic Lumix S Pro 70-200 F2.8 O.I.S. and the Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 DG DN OS Sports that we briefly compare below (Check also the Detailed Comparison page):

Leica Extender L 1.4x for Vario-Elmar-SL 100-400mm f5-6.3 Lens
On the extender/teleconverter side, Leica currently has only the Leica Extender L 1.4x available for the L-mount, and the only compatible lens so far is the Leica Vario-Elmar-SL 100-400 f5-6.3. The timing of this 2.0x TC may be a sign of the new SL 70-200mm F2.8 being compatible with these teleconverters, but we will surely know better tomorrow.
