OK, I realize it might seem unconventional to evaluate digital cameras based on the resolution (megapixels) they offer relative to their weight (kg or lbs) - and this will never become a decision factor-, but why not? It’s a unique way to spend an otherwise ordinary morning, indulge the camera geek within me and have some fun! I can hear some of you saying, 'Get a life!'—but don’t worry about me; I'll be just fine.
Moreover, with access to one of the most detailed and accurate digital camera databases in the world—if not the most—right here at Camera Decision, this task was not very challenging! To keep this comparison current and engaging, I've limited it to mirrorless cameras released after 2020.
SIgma fp L - not a Best Seller but it still has few tricks!
In the end, a camera that frequently tops our list (see 'Lightest Full-frame Cameras') but is as rare as sightings of Bigfoot in real life, the Sigma fp L once again leads the pack by offering a whopping 142.9 MP per kg or 64.9 MP per pound.
