Sigma Japan is teasing a new product announcement on September 5th, 2024 on its official YouTube Channel and we know this is going to be a new 28-105mm F2.8 lens Sony E and Leica L mount cameras. The lens is rumored to have a 82mm filter thread, weigh less than 1kg, and be much more affordable than the Canon RF 24-105mm F2.8 L IS USM Z lens (MSRP $3000).
Sigma is in a trend to release unique lenses that no other manufacturer offer recently, the Sigma 28-45mm F1.8 DG DN Art for E and L mount is the latest example.
