Canon RF 24-105mm f2.8 L IS USM Z is the most versatile lens in the Hybrid Lineup
Canon has been leaning hard into video-friendly glass for the RF mount lately, a win for both its mirrorless bodies and cinema rigs. Even better, these aren’t one-trick ponies. While video is the headline, they double as excellent photo lenses packed with the company’s latest tech. The RF 'Hybrid' lineup spans primes and zooms: primes wear the VCM badge in the name, and zooms add a tidy 'Z' at the end.
Here’s the full list, plus a bonus: a fashion film and its behind-the-scenes, both shot entirely on RF Hybrid lenses to show what they can do.
Canon RF Prime VCM Lenses
Canon kept the outer dimensions nearly identical and the weights close, so you can swap lenses without rebalancing your gimbal.

Canon RF Zoom Z Lenses
While the Canon RF 70-200mm F2.8 L IS USM Z is an excellent lens, our favorite zoom is the Canon RF 24-105mm F2.8 L IS USM Z which is unique with its focal range & aperture combination, presenting an unrivaled flexibility from wide angle to mid telephoto range with a constant F2.8 aperture.
