Ricoh GR IV is planned to released in Autumn 2025
Back in May 2025, we reported that the Ricoh GR IV, successor to the popular GR III , was in development. At the time, our information suggested Ricoh was planning to release the new camera in Autumn 2025, and nothing we’ve seen since has contradicted that, so we’re still holding our breath.

Here is a summary of the findings and opinions from the review of the Ricoh GR IV:
Design and Ergonomics: The GR IV is noticeably slimmer than the GR III, making it feel smaller. The grip is larger and has a sharper feel. The mode dial button has a new indent. The texture of the front wheel's gears is different. The thumb rest is more pronounced, improving the in-hand feel compared to the GR III.
Button Layout and Controls: The back wheel from the GR III has been removed. A new adjustment wheel on the back can be pressed in for quick menu access. The plus/minus rocker switch from older models returns.
Features and Performance: The lens has been redesigned. A new "SN" mode, likely for snap focus, has been added to the mode dial. The camera now has internal storage. Autofocus is significantly faster. Tracking autofocus is improved, feeling "more sticky" and smoother. A major improvement is the significantly shorter screen blackout time when taking photos.
