My Ricoh GR IV Order Shipped Today After a Two-Month Wait
I'm terrible at waiting. Impatient me has made some truly questionable life choices, but as a camera geek I can just barely tolerate the slow torture of new-gear backorders. This one really tested me. I ordered the Ricoh GR IV on August 20, and only today did B&H Photo finally send the magic “shipped” email. If the shipping gods are kind, it lands on my doorstep October 22. I’m already practicing my unboxing face.

At $1,496, the GR IV isn’t exactly cheap anymore. I will also decide if I want to keep it, or go back to a Leica D-Lux 8 which I reviewed here but sold after, keep my money in my account and use my old but still highly capable Sony a5100 with the kit lens, or get one of the X100VI that is available in stock these days.
