OM System OM-1 Announcement on Feb 15th
OM System which was formerly known as Olympus is about to unveil its first camera, OM System OM-1. If the rumors are right, this is going to become the first OM System MFT camera and will be announced on February 15th.
The specs of the OM-1 camera is leaked few days before its official announcement. According to the leaked info, OM System OM-1 sports a 20MP Stacked BSI Live MOS Sensor. Even though the resolution stays the same with the previous Olympus models such as Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark III, sensor is a stacked type which ensures fast reading and minimal rolling shutter. For reference, other cameras that use a stacked type sensors are Sony Alpha A1, Canon EOS R3 and Nikon Z9, all flagship models.
OM-1 can record 4K 60p and Full HD 240fps according to the specs. For stills, besides he regular 20MP mode, OM-1 features two High Resolution modes: handheld HR can shoot up tp 50MP and the Tripos HR mode can shoot 80MP stills.
The body size is similar to Olympus E-M1 series of bodies instead of the Olympus E-M1X which is much larger with its built-in grip.
