As seen on the image, the XF 500mm f5.6 R LM OIS WR is significantly more compact and lighter than its arguably biggest competition, the Fujifilm XF 150-600mm F5.6-8 R LM OIS WR. We have no doubt that the XF 500mm will have a superior image quality compared to the XF 150-600 but it is also pricier and doesn't offer the convenience of a zoom, so this will be an interesting dilemma for x-mount shooters.
The XF 500mm f5.6 R LM OIS WR appears noticeably smaller and lighter than its main rival, the Fujifilm XF 150-600mm F5.6-8 R LM OIS WR. While we expect superior image quality from the XF 500mm (and Fujifilm claims it has the best image quality of any XF lens), it comes at a higher price($2,999 vs $1,999)and lacks the zoom versatility of the XF 150-600mm.
