Fujifilm XF 16-50mm f2.8-4.8 vs XF 18-55mm F2.8-4.0
The XF 16-50mm F2.8-4.8 replaces the popular XF 18-55mm F2.8-4 R LM OIS which served as a 'very good' kit lens for years, but recently started to show its age, especially when paired with recent 40MP sensor cameras.
Fujifilm XF 16-50mm f2.8-4.8 vs XF 18-55mm F2.8-4.0
Size-wise, these lenses are quite similar. However, they differ significantly in other aspects. The 18-55mm lens has a 5mm longer reach at the telephoto end, but I believe the 2mm extra on the wide end of the 16-50mm lens is more advantageous. Additionally, the 18-55mm is faster at the telephoto end (f/4.0 vs. f/4.8). The main benefits of the 16-50mm lens, apart from its wider angle and better optical performance, include weather sealing, a shorter minimum focusing distance, higher maximum magnification, more diaphragm blades (9 vs. 7), and a lighter weight (240g vs 310g).
