Pyxis Monitor with the Pyxis 6K Cine Camera by Blackmagic Design
Some of our readers may already have realized that we have been adding cinema cameras to our reviews and comparisons as we wrote about it here, so you will probably see us posting more often about news related to this product segment in the future. So, let's start with some accessory news: Blackmagic Design has released an external monitor, the PYXIS Monitor designed specifically for the Blackmagic Design PYXIS 6K 24MP FF 6K (with OpenGate) box-type cinema camera with L-mount (also available in Canon EF and Arri PL mounts) that we have added to our database recently.

The 5" Pyxis monitor is compatible with the Pyxis 6K as well as the URSA Cine cameras. It provides the same controls and options as the built-in LCD located on the left side of the Blackmagic PYXIS 6K camera, but apparently much more flexible in placement. Price and Availability
Blackmagic offers the PYXIS Monitor for surprisingly affordable prices (for the cinema camera world!). There are three different configurations that you can shoose from:
- Basic kit of the PYXIS monitor with the sunshade only for $295.
- Mounting kit with the monitor with sunshade, a custom USB cable, the PYXIS monitor mount, and the URSA Cine EVF adapter for $445.
- The full kit including the monitor, a sunshade, 2 different length USB cables, a PYXIS mount, a full URSA Cine top handle, the PYXIS EVF adapter, and the full URSA EVF rotatable mount with carbon fiber rods for $645.
