Sigma 300-600mm F4 OS Sports is one of the most extreme Telephoto zoom lens built in Sigma Aizu Factory
I stumbled on this video last night while I was also tinkering with one of our new lens cap design for supertelephoto lenses. It’s a calm, step by step look at how Sigma builds its telephoto zooms from the ground up inside the Aizu factory in Fukushima, Japan. Super relaxing, oddly satisfying, informative and very nerd friendly. What makes it extra cool is how Sigma runs almost everything under one roof. The Aizu plant is famously vertically integrated, which means they machine and assemble most sub parts in house instead of outsourcing. More control over the process, the design, and the final quality. I believe this is also another factor that makes Sigma to offer its lenses half the price of its counterparts from other camera&lens manufacturers!
