We previously published the news about the Panasonic S9 announcement date and S9 Leaked Images. Although we expect to have the official specs of the Panasonic S9 tomorrow, I didn't want to wait to prepare some extra information. Using the leaked images and scaling them as accurately as I could, I made some real-life size comparisons of the S9 with three potential competitors: Sony ZV-E1, Fujifilm X100VI, and Panasonic's own S5 Mark II.

The Sony ZV-E1 is the closest competitor to the Panasonic S9 that I can think of, except that the ZV-E1's 12MP sensor has much less resolution than the 24MP sensor of the S9.

Panasonic S9 vs Fujifilm X100VI
The Fujifilm X100VI is the most popular fixed-lens camera on the market. It has a 40MP APS-C sensor and a viewfinder. Obviously, there are many major differences between these two cameras, but when paired with a compact fixed prime lens, the Panasonic S9 can certainly be a valid competitor to the X100VI.

These two cameras will share many features, but the built-in electronic viewfinder of the S5 II alone makes it a much better all-around camera than the S9 in my opinion.

Leica Q3 is a 60MP fullframe fixed lens camera with an excellent 28mm F1.7 lens, 8K video recording, and a $5999 price tag! This is the most premium compact camera in the market, so it is interesting to see how it compares with the upcoming S9.
