The recently announced Nikon Nikkor Z 28-400mm F4-8 VR is a unique lens in Z mount ( and probably all other full-frame mounts) due to its huge zoom range starting from wide-angle all the way to super-telephoto reach. Main compromises are the relatively slow aperture and size which are expected, but it will be good to see how much the size differences are compared to more moderate zoom's in Z mount, namely the Z 24-200mm, Z 24-120mm F4 and the Z 100-400mm lenses.

As you can see, the 28-400mm is not much bigger than the 24-120 and 24-200mm lenses, but significantly more compact than the 100-400mm, thanks to its smaller aperture.
