Fujifilm X-T50: Not Recommended at this Price
I must admit, the new Fujifilm X-T50 doesn't seem very appealing at its full retail price. It's puzzling to spend $1,399 on a camera that lacks weather-sealing, I certainly wouldn't.
Consider investing an additional $300 to purchase the Fujifilm X-T5 instead ( or look for a lightly used one)! The X-T5 easily justifies the extra $300 compared to the X-T50 with several superior features in my opinion:
- Weather-sealed body
- Larger and higher resolution viewfinder
- Extended battery life
- Dual SD memory card slots
- Faster shooting with mechanical shutter: 15fps vs 7fps
- More flexible rear LCD screen
- Larger buffer for continuous shooting
- 160MP Pixel-Shift High-Resolution Mode (can't see this on the X-T50 specs, please comment if you know otherwise)
If you don't need the latest and greatest in the X-mount, opt for the X-T30 II at $899 which is a much better deal (Compare X-T50 vs X-T30 II). And if you are not tied to the X-Mount, consider the Sony a6700 or the Canon EOS R7 APS-C cameras.
