Sony is Finally Resurrecting the RX10 Bridge Camera
After a massive nine year wait, Sony has officially dropped a teaser for a new RX10 camera. The RX10 IV launched all the way back in 2017, and it has been the undisputed king of 1-inch sensor bridge cameras ever since. Now, a recent teaser confirms that the long awaited successor is arriving on July 9, 2026.
This is huge news for wildlife and bird photographers. Having a 24-600mm equivalent lens in a single body is perfect for lightweight birding around local spots, especially on days when you just want to leave the heavy 600mm f/4 prime at home.

Based on the teaser silhouette and recent rumors, the core optics are staying the same. We are likely looking at the familiar 20.1 megapixel 1-inch sensor paired with that incredible Zeiss 24-600mm f/2.4-4 lens. The real upgrades will happen under the hood. The new RX10 V is expected to feature Sony's latest AI processor. This means the camera will finally get modern real time eye autofocus for birds and animals. Other much needed modern touches include a USB-C port and the larger NP-FZ100 battery for significantly better shooting life.

Price and Availability
The official announcement for the new Sony RX10 is set for July 9, 2026. While official pricing is not confirmed yet, rumors point to an MSRP between $1,899 and $1,999. Expect preorders to open shortly after the announcement.
