WG-8 vs Wg-1000
Ricoh announced the Pentax WG-8 and Pentax WG-1000 waterproof cameras. The WG-8 is the successor to the WG-6 which was released back in 2018. It features a 28-140mm (5x) lens and a 20-megapixel Type 1/2.3 CMOS sensor that record videos up to 4K 30p resolution.

The WG-1000 is the more affordable of the two at $229, which is also lower than Ricoh's most recent entry-level waterproof, the WG-80 which currently sells for $296. It uses a 16MP BSI CMOS sensor with an ISO range of ISO 100-3200 and the max video resolution is capped at Full-HD.

The Wg-1000 sports a 4x 28-108mm F3.0-6.6 lens that hasn't been used in any of the other Ricoh WG series of cameras as far as I can find. The lens of the WG-1000 is not fully retractable, making the thickness of the camera larger than other models.

The WG-1000 will be available mid-July for $229 while the WG-8 will be available late July for $399.
