Panasonic FZ80D 20-1200mm 60x Superzoom Camera
I frequently monitor the cameras our readers purchase through our affiliate partner retailers, and one model that recently caught my eye is the Panasonic Lumix FZ80D. While SuperZoom bridge cameras aren't as popular as they once were, they still perform relatively well. It's puzzling why many manufacturers are abandoning this segment, much like they did with compact point-and-shoot cameras.
However, Panasonic made a smart move by releasing the updated FZ80D, a successor to the FZ80, in July this year (Read our introduction post). The improvements, though subtle, are impactful—they've upgraded the LCD, and Viewfinder (now OLED), and added USB-C charging capability. What makes it even more appealing is the price. Panasonic is currently offering it for $477, which is even lower than the older FZ80 ($499). This is quite attractive, especially considering the extremely versatile 20-1200mm lens!
