I sometimes miss the good old days when new superzoom or ultrazoom fixed-lens 'Bridge' cameras were released nearly every week. I don't believe the demand for these cameras has vanished, our analytics show that people still read about and purchase them. However, manufacturers seem less interested in introducing new models due to the low profit margins. They earn higher margins on full-frame mirrorless cameras and continue to profit from selling lenses for these systems.

Nikon Coolpix P950 and Coolpix P1000
The Nikon Coolpix P950 (24-2000 mm - 83x zoom) and the Nikon Coolpix P1000 (24-3000 mm - 125x zoom) are among the latest superzoom cameras released, in January 2020 and July 2018, respectively. The P1000's focal reach of 3000mm is particularly unparalleled and nearly impossible to match with an interchangeable lens camera (ILC) plus lens combination, unless you use converters and/or opt for a high-crop body or a sensor with very high resolution.
