Sony FX3a
Sony has released a revised version of its popular FX3 full-frame Cinema Line camera, the FX3a. This update includes a single minor hardware change, a new 2.36 million dots rear LCD panel, replacing the old 1.44 million dots one.
The original FX3’s screen is no longer in production, so this update was more of a necessary change than a deliberate upgrade. Still, the improved display enhances the on-camera monitoring experience, so there's little reason to complain. This kind of subtle revision reflects Sony’s recent pattern, as seen with models like the A6400a / A6400 and A6100a / A6100, which were also updated beginning of 2025 to keep pace with current manufacturing standards.

Price and Availability
The FX3a is priced at $3,900, the same as the original FX3 at launch, and is now available for pre-order through B&H Photo. For a more affordable option with almost identical feature set but a smaller APS-C sensor, you can check the Sony FX30 at $1,598.
