Leica M11

The M11 series was criticized with unstable software and errors after its introduction but Leica has been working on fixing the errors via firmware updates. They just released the firmware update v2.1.2 (Official Download page) that fixes the error listed below.

Installation
Installation of the firmware updates can be done either via the Leica FOTOS app (preferred method) or camera menus. We recommend you to install the FOTOS app and register your camera if you haven't done so, it notifies you whenever there is new firmware for your camera, and makes the updating process a breeze.

Changes with the Firmware Update: ERROR CORRECTION
The improvement of our firmware is an ongoing process. The current update contains important bugfixes and improvements of the stability of the firmware:
• Sporadic system errors during lens changes • Sporadic system errors during single frame shooting
• Sporadic system errors during continuous shooting in combination with CAI (content credentials)
Known errors
• The camera activation process may delay in rare instances.
Important Information regarding memory card use
• In rare cases, the use of UHS-I SD may result in some technical issues. An optimization for these SD cards is planned for a later firmware update. Leica recommends using UHS-II cards to generally avoid these issues, and to guarantee the best possible performance for your camera.
