First images of Canon RF 800mm F5.6 and RF 1200mm F8 Leaked
First images of Canon RF 800mm F5.6 L IS USM and RF 1200mm F8 L IS USM Leaked is leaked, found via digicame-info. These two monster lenses for the RF mount are expected to be announced on February 24th. These will make a dream combo for sports and wildlife photographers when paired with a Canon EOS R3 or Canon EOS R5.
Canon already had a 800mm prime lens for its RF mount, the Canon RF 800mm F11 IS STM ($999) but that one at F11 minimum aperture is 2-stops slower than the upcoming RF 800mm F5.6 L IS USM. The new 800mm won't be nearly compact or inexpensive as the F11 version though, mind you. The EF version of this lens, Canon EF 800mm f/5.6L IS USM is selling for $12,999 and weighs 9.9 lb / 4.49 kg while we expect the RF mount version to be little lighter than that one.
Canon RF 800mm F11 IS STM Lens
The new RF 1200mm F8 L IS USM doesn't have a match on the EF mount . The only EF 1200mm lens was the 1-stop faster Canon EF 1200mm f/5.6 L USM Lens which was recently sold for a whopping $580,000! (Original MSRP of this lens was around $89K) B&H Photo had a review of this lens here and probably sold a few of them. We are really curious how Canon will price this lens but from the leaked photo we can tell that it is much smaller than the F5.6 version.
