Being the youngest of the sub-1000 club, it is also the most attractive of all in our opinion. At only $999, it is a great entry point to the Z-Mount system.

Canon EOS RP
Canon EOS RP was introduced in 2019 and still selling strong. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles that the current R mount cameras have but still offers excellent image quality and good 4K at a sub-1000 price tag.

Sony Alpha A7 II is old, it has been on the market since 2014 and shows it age. No 4K video or the advanced AF system of the current models but Sony's 24MP FF still delivers in stills images.
