It may not seem fair to compare a 2022 model brand new Mirrorless camera to a DSLR camera that was released in 2019 but even after 3 years of its release, 90D is still one of the best selling DSLR camera among Camera Decision users and one of the best APS-C DSLR camera in production. It has the perfect ergonomics in its class and and for $1199, you will have access to the largest selection of native mount lenses and mostly at discounted prices compared to Canon RF mount lenses.
On the other hand, EOS R7 clearly represents the future of Canon's Advanced APS-C camera line. It has all the latest bells and whistles, an excellent AF system that was inherited from the EOS R3 (not at the same level though), 4K 60p Video and more. EOS R7 will be available in June 2022 for $1499.

Size and Weight
Canon R7 has external dimensions of 132 x 90 x 92 mm (5.2 x 3.54 x 3.62″) and weighs 612 g (1.35 lb / 21.59 oz) (including batteries). Canon 90D has external dimensions of 141 x 105 x 77 mm (5.55 x 4.13 x 3.03″) and weighs 701 g (1.55 lb / 24.73 oz) (including batteries).
Below you can see the scaled comparison images of Canon R7 and Canon 90D. R7 is clearly the smaller of the two. It is 9mm narrower and 15mm shorter than Canon 90D but it is also 15mm thicker. As a positive for the 90D, it has great ergonomics, has a top plate and easier to balance with heavier lenses.

Lens Options
Lens options for the EOS 90D's EF-S mount much wider and mature than the R7's RF mount lens choices. There are currently 333 lenses in Camera Decision database for the 90D whereas R7 has only 32 native lenses.
