TTartisan 17mm F4 Tilt-Shift Lens with E-mount
The Canon TS-E 17mm f4L has been on my short list for years, but I could never justify the price for how rarely I would use it. The lure of perfectly straight verticals for architecture and nature shots kept tempting me, though. Used copies hover around $1000, while the new TTArtisan 17mm F4 ASPH Tilt-Shift lists at $509, which feels much more reasonable for the occasional tilt shift need and it delivers solid image quality.

Spec-wise, the TTArtisan offers ±8° tilt and ±8 mm shift. The Canon gives tilt ±6.5° and shift ±12 mm, so Canon is more flexible for extreme shifts, but the TTArtisan should cover most real world scenarios. Considering the Canon still has a $2399 MSRP and about $1000 used price, I am happy to accept a few compromises with the TTArtisan.
Canon TS-E 17mm f4L Tilt-Shift Lens
The TTARTISAN Tilt-Shift 17mm F4 lens features an image circle of approximately 64mm, larger than that of full-frame and even medium-format lenses which is typical for TS lenses because it has to be large enough to compensate for the framing changes that comes with the tilt and shift moves. One more practical point: on Sony and Fujifilm bodies the Canon requires an adapter, while the TTArtisan mounts natively, which is another win for convenience.

The TTARTISAN 17mm F4 Tilt-Shift will retail for $509 USD, and it is available in Sony E and GFX at launch, with Nikon Z, Canon RF, and Leica L coming soon.
