Ricoh has unveiled a new variant of the Pentax K-3 Mark III 25.7MP APS-C DSLR camera : the Pentax K-3 Mark III Monochrome. This version comes without a color filter array, providing a host of advantages. Firstly, it delivers sharper images as there is no need for demosaicing, resulting in better tonal quality, as no light is lost to filters. Furthermore, the absence of chroma noise enhances the low-light benefit as all noise appears as luminance noise, providing additional detail or 'grain'.
