Kudos to Nikon for continuing to support its older F-Mount DSLR cameras! Just this morning, I wrote about how Nikon improved the Z9 via firmware updates, and in parallel, they released firmware updates for its D5600 and D500 cameras, which were released back in 2016. While these updates aren’t especially major, it’s still reassuring to see Nikon hasn’t forgotten about these cameras.
Nikon D 500 vs D5600 vs Z5 II
It’s unfortunate that Nikon still hasn’t introduced a true ‘D500-equivalent’ high-performance APS-C mirrorless camera for the Z mount. While the new Z50 II is a step in the right direction, it doesn’t fulfill the needs of many photographers. A dedicated advanced APS-C body would be especially useful alongside Nikon’s excellent Z-mount wildlife lenses.
