Godox AD100Pro II Pocket Flash
Godox is one of the most active player in the world of strobes and flashes, and they recently announced the AD100Pro II, a successor to their popular pocket-sized strobe AD100pro. This update maintains the soda-can size of the original while addressing several key areas that photographers have been asking for.
Enhanced Cooling and Battery Performance
The most significant internal upgrades focus on endurance. While the unit still delivers 100Ws of power, Godox redesigned the cooling architecture. The AD100Pro II can now handle between 60 to 100 consecutive full-power flashes before the thermal protection kicks in.
Powering this is a new 3300mAh battery, a notable jump from the previous 2600mAh version. You can expect up to 490 full-power flashes on a single charge. For modern convenience, the battery is rechargeable via USB-C.
Smart Workflow Improvements
Godox introduced a color-coded group indicator system on the body. It uses 16 different colors to identify light groups, making it easier to manage complex multi-light setups at a glance. The back of the unit features a new full-color display for clearer menu navigation.
Wireless control is also more robust. It continues to use the Godox 2.4GHz X system but adds 433 MHz connectivity and support for the new X3-series triggers. One-tap pairing with the X3 and X3Pro makes the initial setup much faster.

Despite the larger battery and improved cooling, the strobe remains lightweight at 564g (1.2 lbs). It retains the magnetic round head, allowing for quick attachment of the AK-R1 accessory kit.
