Venus 7.5mm T2.9 Zero-D S35 Cine
Laowa released the 7.5mm T2.9 Zero-D S35 Cine, the widest rectilinear Super 35 prime lens. Laowa claims that it produces “Zero-Distortion” and minimal chromatic aberration which will save filmmakers a lot of effort on post production.
The full manual lens has a 12mm full-frame equivalent focal length and offers a 123-degree angle of view. It’s constructed of 16 elements in 10 groups, including two extra-low dispersion (ED) elements and two aspherical elements. It features a 7-blade aperture diaphragm and uses a 77mm front filter thread with an T-stop range of T2.9 through T22.

The lens measures 80mm / 3.1” in diameter, 80mm / 3.2” long and weighs around 610g / 22oz (There are slight variations between the different lens mount options). The lens has a minimum focusing distance of 25cm /9.8”.

The Laowa 7.5mm T2.9 Zero-D Cine lens is available for Sony E, Canon RF, Fujifilm X and Nikon Z mounts and it is designed to be shot in cropped mode on full-frame camera systems. The lens is available to order for $699 on Venus Optics Laowa website.
