Anonymous farmer: I will wait to see Chris and Jordan's review and DxO score before taking the plunge!
Nikon has introduced an innovative camera system tailored for farmers – an artificial intelligence (AI) powered camera designed to forecast the timing of cows' deliveries. Commencing tests on four farms in southwestern Japan in 2023, the company aims to alleviate the workload for farmers who routinely monitor expecting mother cows.

This new camera observes the behavior of pregnant cows, providing farmers with a five-hour advance notice. It accomplishes this by detecting indicators such as heightened movement and the early release of the calf's amniotic sac. The projected expense for the system is around 900,000 yen / $6,200 USD annually for a farm managing 100 cows. Farmers receive notifications about upcoming calf deliveries through a specialized smartphone application.
