Fujifilm X-E3 vs Fujifilm X-E4: Physical Specs and Body Features Comparison

Size and weight are big decision factors when you are trying to find the ideal camera for your needs. In this section, we are going to illustrate the Fujifilm X-E3 and Fujifilm X-E4 side-by-side from the front, back and top in their relative dimensions. Fujifilm X-E3 has external dimensions of 121 x 74 x 43 mm (4.8 x 2.9 x 1.7 and weighs 337 g (0.74 lb / 11.88 oz) (including batteries). Fujifilm X-E4 has external dimensions of 121 x 73 x 33 mm (4.76 x 2.87 x 1.3″) and weighs 364 g (0.80 lb / 12.84 oz) (including batteries).

Weight is another important factor, especially when deciding on a camera that you want to carry with you all day. Fujifilm X-E3 is 27g lighter than the Fujifilm X-E4 but we don't think this will make a significant difference.

Also keep in mind that body weight is not the only deciding factor when comparing two interchangeable camera bodies, you also have to take into account the lenses that you will be using with these bodies. Since both Fujifilm X-E3 and Fujifilm X-E4 have the same Fujifilm X lens mount and APS-C sized sensors, lenses will not be a differentiator on total size of the system.

Weather Sealing

Unfortunately neither the Fujifilm X-E3 nor Fujifilm X-E4 provides any type of weather sealing in their bodies, so you have to give extra care especially when you are shooting outdoors. If weather sealing is a must-have feature for you, check these sections:

LCD Screen Size and Features

Fujifilm X-E3 and Fujifilm X-E4's LCD screens have the same diagonal size of 3.00 inches.

On the other hand, Fujifilm X-E4 features a Tilting screen where you can change the angle of the screen to make it easier to shoot from waist or over-the-head levels whereas the Fujifilm X-E3 has a fixed type screen which provides less flexibility in shooting positions compared to X-E4.

Fujifilm X-E3 vs Fujifilm X-E4: Sensor Comparison

Fujifilm X-E3 has a 24.0MP APS-C (23.6 x 15.6 mm ) sized CMOS X-TRANS III sensor and features EXR Processor III processor. On the other hand, Fujifilm X-E4 has a 26.0MP APS-C (23.5 x 15.6 mm ) sized BSI-CMOS sensor and features X-Processor 4 processor.

Another similarity between these two cameras is that both Fujifilm X-E4 and Fujifilm X-E3 sensors lack anti-alias (Low-Pass) filters. Removing anti-alias filter increases the sharpness and level of detail but at the same time, it increases the chance of moiré occurring in certain scenes.

Below you can see the X-E3 and X-E4 sensor size comparison.

Sensor Size and Resolution Comparison image of Fujifilm X-E3 and Fujifilm X-E4 Cameras

Fujifilm X-E3 and Fujifilm X-E4 have almost the same sensor size, so neither of them has any significant advantage over the other in terms of providing control over depth of field when used with the same focal length and aperture.

Fujifilm X-E3 vs Fujifilm X-E4 Comparison of Available Lenses
Which camera has more lenses?

The number of available lenses is a big deciding factor when choosing your interchangeable lens camera. Fujifilm X-E3 and Fujifilm X-E4 have the same Fujifilm X lens mount and currently there are 83 native lenses available for these cameras.

Another important factor is the availability of image stabilization. None of these bodies have sensor based image stabilization so you have to buy lenses with Optical stabilization feature. Currently there are 18 lenses with Image stabilization for Fujifilm X mount.
