Both cameras have APS-C sensors but Canon 600D has a 18.0 MP and Sony A57 has a 16.0 MP resolution. Canon 600D was introduced to market in March 2011 and Sony A57 was launched in September 2012. Number of available lenses is a big decision factor while choosing your interchangeable lens camera. When we look at the available lenses for these two cameras, we see that Canon 600D has an advantage over Sony A57.
