    Weather Sealing

Samsung ST100 doesn't have any environmental sealings on its body so you got to be extra careful to protect it against water and dust. If you shoot under these conditions very often, consider checking Top Compact Cameras with Weather Sealing page.

    Samsung ST100 Lens

Samsung ST100 features a 35-175 mm F3.6-4.8 5× zoom lens. With a focal length of only 35mm on the wide end, it offers very limited wide angle capability . On the plus side, 175mm reach on tele gives a lot of flexibility and satisfy most of your needs.

Samsung ST100 Sensor and Photography Features

Samsung ST100 has a 14.0MP 1/2.3-inch (6.17 x 4.55 mm ) sized CCD sensor . You can shoot at maximum resolution of 4320 x 3240 pixels with aspect ratios of 4:3, 3:2 and 16:9. ST100 has a native ISO range of 80 - 3200 but unfortunately, Samsung ST100 doesn't have RAW file support. If you need a Compact camera with a RAW support, consider Nikon Coolpix P7100 or Nikon Coolpix P7000 in the same price range.

Samsung ST100 is not the highest resolution Small Sensor camera. GoPro Hero11 Black with its 27.0MP sensor is leading in this class. Check the comparison of Samsung ST100 vs GoPro Hero11 Black or take a look at Highest resolution Compact cameras list.

Let's look at how the size of the Samsung ST100's 1/2.3-inch sensor compares with other standard sensor sizes.

    Samsung ST100 Sensor Size Comparison
Comparison image of Samsung ST100 Sensor Size with other standard sensors

    Samsung ST100 LCD

Samsung ST100 has a Fixed Type 3.50-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 1,152k dots. The Samsung ST100's 3.50" screen is larger than average and its resolution is up to the class standarts.

LCD is Touch screen type, so you can change the settings and set the focus point with your fingertips.

Samsung ST100 back view and LCD

Unfortunately Samsung ST100 doesn't have a Selfie friendly screen. If this feature is important for your shooting style, check here the list of Best Compact Cameras with Selfie Friendly LCD screen.

ST100 doesn't have a viewfinder and no option for external viewfinder. Lack of a viewfinder can be problematic especially under strong light where visibility of LCD screens goes down dramatically. If you need a Compact camera with a built-in viewfinder in a similar price range, consider Panasonic Lumix DC-ZS200 (Lumix DC-TZ200) (Compare) or Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS100 (Lumix DMC-TZ100) (Compare).
Alternatively, check here the list of all Compact cameras with viewfinder..

Samsung ST100 Connectivity, Storage and Battery

You can connect ST100 to compatible devices via its HDMI port or USB 2.0 (480 Mbit/sec) port.

    Samsung ST100 Video Features

With Samsung ST100, you can record your videos at a highest resolution of 1280 x 720 at 30,15 fps and save in and Motion JPEG formats. 1280 x 720 is a low video resolution by todays standards. If video quality is important for you, we recommend you to look at cameras with Full HD, even better 4K / Ultra-HD resolution .

    Microphones, Speaker and Headphone Connections

Samsung ST100 has a built-in Mono microphone but no speaker. On the other hand, Samsung ST100 doesn't have any connections for external microphones and headphones.
