Fujifilm X-E3 has external dimensions of 121 x 74 x 43 mm (4.8 x 2.9 x 1.7 and weighs 337 g (0.74 lb / 11.88 oz) (including batteries). Also keep in mind that body weight is not the only deciding factor when comparing two interchangeable camera bodies, you also have to take into account the lenses that you will be using with these bodies. Since Fujifilm X-E3 has an APS-C sized sensor and Panasonic GX850 has a smaller Four Thirds sensor, Panasonic GX850's lenses for a similar focal length and aperture will generally be lighter and smaller than the Fujifilm X-E3 lenses.

Weather Sealing

Unfortunately neither the Fujifilm X-E3 nor Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX850 (Lumix DMC-GX800 / Lumix DMC-GF9) provides any type of weather sealing in their bodies, so you have to give extra care especially when you are shooting outdoors. If weather sealing is a must-have feature for you, check these sections:

LCD Screen Size and Features

Fujifilm X-E3 and Panasonic GX850's LCD screens have the same diagonal size of 3.00 inches.

On the other hand, Panasonic GX850 features a Tilting screen where you can change the angle of the screen to make it easier to shoot from waist or over-the-head levels whereas the Fujifilm X-E3 has a fixed type screen which provides less flexibility in shooting positions compared to GX850.

Fujifilm X-E3 vs Panasonic GX850: Sensor Comparison

Fujifilm X-E3 has a 24.0MP APS-C (23.6 x 15.6 mm ) sized CMOS X-TRANS III sensor and features EXR Processor III processor. On the other hand, Panasonic GX850 has a 16.0MP Four Thirds (17.3 x 13 mm ) sized CMOS sensor and features Venus Engine processor.

Fujifilm X-E3's sensor provides 8MP more than Panasonic GX850's sensor, which gives a significant advantage in real life. You can print your images larger or crop more freely. On the other hand, please keep in mind that Max sensor resolution is not the only determinant of resolving power. Factors such as the optical elements, low pass filter, pixel size and sensor technology also affects the final resolution of the captured image.

Another similarity between these two cameras is that both Panasonic GX850 and Fujifilm X-E3 sensors lack anti-alias (Low-Pass) filters. Removing anti-alias filter increases the sharpness and level of detail but at the same time, it increases the chance of moiré occurring in certain scenes.

Below you can see the X-E3 and GX850 sensor size comparison.

Sensor Size and Resolution Comparison image of Fujifilm X-E3 and Panasonic GX850 Cameras
