Size and weight are big decision factors when you are trying to find the ideal camera for your needs.
In this section, we are going to illustrate the Sigma DP2 and Sigma DP1x side-by-side from the front, back and top in their relative dimensions. Sigma DP2 has external dimensions of 113 x 60 x 56 mm (4.45 x 2.36 x 2.2″) and weighs 280 g (0.62 lb / 9.88 oz) (including batteries). Sigma DP1x has external dimensions of 113 x 60 x 50 mm (4.45 x 2.36 x 1.97″) and weighs 250 g (0.55 lb / 8.82 oz) (including batteries).
Below you can see the front-view size comparison of the Sigma DP2 and the Sigma DP1x. Sigma DP2 has the same height and width with Sigma DP1x. On the other hand, with a thickness of 56mm, it is 6mm thicker.
Weight is another important factor, especially when deciding on a camera that you want to carry with you all day.
Sigma DP1x is 30g lighter than the Sigma DP2 but we don't think this will make a significant difference.
Weather Sealing
Unfortunately neither the Sigma DP2 nor Sigma DP1x provides any type of weather sealing in their bodies, so you have to give extra care especially when you are shooting outdoors. If weather sealing is a must-have feature for you, check these sections: Top Compact Cameras with Weather Sealing
LCD Screen Size and Features
Sigma DP2 and Sigma DP1x's LCD screens have the same diagonal size of 2.50 inches.
Unfortunately, both cameras has fixed screens so they don't tilt or flip in directions.
