Size and weight are big decision factors when you are trying to find the ideal camera for your needs.
In this section, we are going to illustrate the Pentax KP and Canon 6D side-by-side from the front, back and top in their relative dimensions. Pentax KP has external dimensions of 132 x 101 x 76 mm (5.2 x 3.98 x 2.99″) and weighs 703 g (1.55 lb / 24.80 oz) (including batteries). Canon 6D has external dimensions of 145 x 111 x 71 mm (5.71 x 4.37 x 2.8″) and weighs 770 g (1.70 lb / 27.16 oz) (including batteries).
Below you can see the front-view size comparison of the Pentax KP and the Canon 6D. Pentax KP is 13mm narrower and 10mm shorter than Canon 6D but it is also 5mm thicker.
Here is the back view size comparison of the Pentax KP and Canon 6D.
Now lets look at the top view comparison of Pentax KP and Canon 6D.
Weight is another important factor, especially when deciding on a camera that you want to carry with you all day.
Pentax KP is 67g lighter than the Canon 6D but we don't think this will make a significant difference.
Also keep in mind that body weight is not the only deciding factor when comparing two interchangeable camera bodies, you also have to take into account the lenses that you will be using with these bodies. Since Canon 6D has a Full frame sensor and Pentax KP has a smaller APS-C sensor, Pentax KP's lenses for a similar focal length and aperture will generally be lighter and smaller than the Canon 6D lenses.
Weather Sealing
Both the KP and the 6D have weather sealings in their bodies, making them resistant to water and dust.
LCD Screen Size and Features
Pentax KP and Canon 6D's LCD screens have the same diagonal size of 3.00 inches.
On the other hand, Pentax KP features a
Tilting screen where you can change the angle of the screen to make it easier to shoot from waist or over-the-head levels whereas the Canon 6D has a fixed type screen which provides less flexibility in shooting positions compared to KP.
