Size and weight are big decision factors when you are trying to find the ideal camera for your needs.
In this section, we are going to illustrate the Olympus E-M5 III and Canon M6 side-by-side from the front, back and top in their relative dimensions. Olympus E-M5 III has external dimensions of 125 x 85 x 50 mm (4.92 x 3.35 x 1.97″) and weighs 414 g (0.91 lb / 14.60 oz) (including batteries). Canon M6 has external dimensions of 112 x 68 x 45 mm (4.41 x 2.68 x 1.77″) and weighs 390 g (0.86 lb / 13.76 oz) (including batteries).
Below you can see the front-view size comparison of the Olympus E-M5 III and the Canon M6. Canon M6 is clearly the smaller of the two cameras. Its body is 13mm narrower, 17mm shorter and 5mm thinner than Olympus E-M5 III.
Here is the back view size comparison of the Olympus E-M5 III and Canon M6.
Now lets look at the top view comparison of Olympus E-M5 III and Canon M6.
Weight is another important factor, especially when deciding on a camera that you want to carry with you all day.
Canon M6 is 24g lighter than the Olympus E-M5 III but we don't think this will make a significant difference.
Also keep in mind that body weight is not the only deciding factor when comparing two interchangeable camera bodies, you also have to take into account the lenses that you will be using with these bodies. Since Canon M6 has an APS-C sized sensor and Olympus E-M5 III has a smaller Four Thirds sensor, Olympus E-M5 III's lenses for a similar focal length and aperture will generally be lighter and smaller than the Canon M6 lenses.
Weather Sealing
With its weather-sealed body, we believe that the E-M5 Mark III has a big advantage over the M6 which doesn't provide any kind of environmental sealing.
LCD Screen Size and Features
Olympus E-M5 III and Canon M6's LCD screens have the same diagonal size of 3.00 inches.
Canon M6 features a
Tilting-only screen which is mostly only good for shooting from waist or over-the-head levels. On the other hand, Olympus E-M5 III sports a
Fully Articulated screen which is more flexible and useful, especially for taking selfies and video.
