12.0MP 1/1.7-inch (7.44 x 5.58 mm ) sized CMOS sensor and features Digic 5 processor.

Leica D-Lux 6 and Canon G15 have the same sensor sizes so they will provide same level of control over the depth of field when used with same focal length and aperture. On the other hand, since Leica D-Lux 6 has 20% larger pixel area compared to Canon G15, it has potential to collect more light on pixel level hence have less noise in low light / High ISO images.
