With its weather sealed body, we believe that the G1 X III has a big advantage over the DP1x which doesn't provide any kind of environmental sealing.

LCD Screen Size and Features

Canon G1 X III's 3.00" LCD screen is slightly larger than Sigma DP1x's 2.5" screen.

Moreover, Canon G1 X III sports a Fully Articulated screen which you can change the angle and position of the screen almost freely, making it possible to shoot from waist or over-the-head levels, and especially very useful for shooting selfies and video. On the other hand, Sigma DP1x has a fixed type screen which provides almost no flexibility in shooting positions compared to G1 X III.

Canon G1 X III vs Sigma DP1x Lens Specs Comparison

Canon G1 X III features a 24-72 mm F2.8-5.6 3x zoom lens whereas Sigma DP1x features a 28 mm F4.0 Prime lens.

It is not easy to compare a prime lens with a zoom lens. Canon G1 X III's zoom lens provides a great flexibility compared to Sigma DP1x's 28mm fixed focal length lens. On the other hand, DP1x's prime lens makes it a specialized camera. You compromise the flexibility of a zoom in order to enjoy the high image quality and unique rendering of this fast lens. On the tele end, Canon G1 X III has 44mm longer reach than the Sigma DP1x. However, with a max aperture of f4.00, Sigma DP1x is faster at tele end.
