Size and weight are big decision factors when you are trying to find the ideal camera for your needs.
In this section, we are going to illustrate the Canon R1 and Leica Q-P side-by-side from the front, back and top in their relative dimensions. Canon R1 has external dimensions of 158 x 150 x 87 mm (6.22 x 5.91 x 3.43″) and weighs 1115 g (2.46 lb / 39.33 oz) (including batteries). Leica Q-P has external dimensions of 130 x 80 x 93 mm (5.12 x 3.15 x 3.66″) and weighs 640 g (1.41 lb / 22.58 oz) (including batteries).

Weight is another important factor, especially when deciding on a camera that you want to carry with you all day.
Leica Q-P is significantly lighter (475g ) than the Canon R1 which may become a big advantage especially on long walking trips.
Again, this comparison may not be very useful in real life as we are comparing the weight of a camera with a built-in lens to the body-only weight of an interchangeable lens camera. Once you put a lens on R1, the total kit will weigh much higher.
Weather Sealing
With its weather-sealed body, we believe that the R1 has a big advantage over the Q-P which doesn't provide any kind of environmental sealing.
LCD Screen Size and Features
Canon R1's 3.20" LCD screen is slightly larger than Leica Q-P's 3 screen.
Moreover, Canon R1 sports a
Fully Articulated screen which you can change the angle and position of the screen almost freely, making it possible to shoot from waist or over-the-head levels, and especially very useful for shooting selfies and video. On the other hand, Leica Q-P has a fixed type screen which provides almost no flexibility in shooting positions compared to R1.
