Both Canon 60Da and Panasonic ZS30 have 18.0 MP resolution sensors but Canon 60Da's sensor is APS-C (22.3 x 14.9 mm ) and Panasonic ZS30's sensor is 1/2.3-inch (6.17 x 4.55 mm ).
Since Canon 60Da's has a larger sensor area with the same resolution, this means that it also has a larger pixel area hence better light collecting capacity for a given aperture compared to Panasonic ZS30.

As seen above, Canon 60Da has a 11.8x Larger sensor area than Panasonic ZS30. Larger sensors give photographer more control on the depth of field and blurry background compared to smaller sensor when shot in same focal length and aperture.

One thing to watch when comparing these two: they have different sensor sizes

so compare them at the same framing rather than the same focal length.
