Both Pentax K-01 and Samsung WB50F have 16.0 MP resolution sensors but Pentax K-01's sensor is APS-C (23.7 x 15.7 mm ) and Samsung WB50F's sensor is 1/2.3-inch (6.17 x 4.55 mm ).
Since Pentax K-01's has a larger sensor area with the same resolution, this means that it also has a larger pixel area hence better light collecting capacity for a given aperture compared to Samsung WB50F.

One thing to watch when comparing these two: they have different sensor sizes
(APS-C versus 1/2.3-inch),
so compare them at the same framing rather than the same focal length.
