Size and weight are big decision factors when you are trying to find the ideal camera for your needs.
In this section, we are going to illustrate the Panasonic G7 and Leica TL side-by-side from the front, back and top in their relative dimensions. Panasonic G7 has external dimensions of 125 x 86 x 77 mm (4.92 x 3.39 x 3.03″) and weighs 410 g (0.90 lb / 14.46 oz) (including batteries). Leica TL has external dimensions of 134 x 69 x 33 mm (5.28 x 2.72 x 1.3″) and weighs 384 g (0.85 lb / 13.55 oz) (including batteries).
Below you can see the front-view size comparison of the Panasonic G7 and the Leica TL. Leica TL is 17mm shorter and 44mm thinner than Panasonic G7 but it is also 9mm wider.
Here is the back view size comparison of the Panasonic G7 and Leica TL.
Now lets look at the top view comparison of Panasonic G7 and Leica TL.
Weight is another important factor, especially when deciding on a camera that you want to carry with you all day.
Leica TL is 26g lighter than the Panasonic G7 but we don't think this will make a significant difference.
Also keep in mind that body weight is not the only deciding factor when comparing two interchangeable camera bodies, you also have to take into account the lenses that you will be using with these bodies. Since Leica TL has an APS-C sized sensor and Panasonic G7 has a smaller Four Thirds sensor, Panasonic G7's lenses for a similar focal length and aperture will generally be lighter and smaller than the Leica TL lenses.
Weather Sealing
Unfortunately neither the Panasonic Lumix DMC-G7 nor Leica TL provides any type of weather sealing in their bodies, so you have to give extra care especially when you are shooting outdoors. If weather sealing is a must-have feature for you, check these sections: Top Mirrorless Cameras with Weather Sealing
LCD Screen Size and Features
Leica TL's 3.70" LCD screen is slightly larger than Panasonic G7's 3 screen.
On the other hand, Panasonic G7 sports a
Fully Articulated screen which you can change the angle and position of the screen almost freely, making it possible to shoot from waist or over-the-head levels, and especially very useful for shooting selfies and video. On the other hand, Leica TL has a fixed type screen which provides almost no flexibility in shooting positions compared to G7.
