Size and weight are big decision factors when you are trying to find the ideal camera for your needs.
In this section, we are going to illustrate the Panasonic S1 and Panasonic S1H side-by-side from the front, back and top in their relative dimensions. Panasonic S1 has external dimensions of 149 x 110 x 97 mm (5.87 x 4.33 x 3.82″) and weighs 1021 g (2.25 lb) (including batteries). Panasonic S1H has external dimensions of 151 x 114 x 110 mm (5.94 x 4.49 x 4.33″) and weighs 1052 g (2.32 lb / 37.11 oz) (including batteries).
Below you can see the front-view size comparison of the Panasonic S1 and the Panasonic S1H. Panasonic S1 is clearly the smaller of the two cameras. Its body is 2mm narrower, 4mm shorter and 13mm thinner than Panasonic S1H.
Here is the back view size comparison of the Panasonic S1 and Panasonic S1H.
Now lets look at the top view comparison of Panasonic S1 and Panasonic S1H.
Weight is another important factor, especially when deciding on a camera that you want to carry with you all day.
Panasonic S1 is 31g lighter than the Panasonic S1H but we don't think this will make a significant difference.
Also keep in mind that body weight is not the only deciding factor when comparing two interchangeable camera bodies, you also have to take into account the lenses that you will be using with these bodies. Since both Panasonic S1 and Panasonic S1H have the same Leica L lens mount and Full frame sized sensors, lenses will not be a differentiator on total size of the system.
Both the S1 and the S1H have weather sealings in their bodies, making them resistant to water and dust.
LCD Screen Size and Features
Panasonic S1 and Panasonic S1H's LCD screens have the same diagonal size of 3.20 inches.
Panasonic S1 features a Tilting-only screen
which is mostly only good for shooting from waist or over-the-head levels. On the other hand, Panasonic S1H sports a Fully Articulated screen
which is more flexible and useful, especially for taking selfies and video.
