Size and weight are big decision factors when you are trying to find the ideal camera for your needs.
In this section, we are going to illustrate the Panasonic G100 and Panasonic G5 side-by-side from the front, back and top in their relative dimensions. Panasonic G100 has external dimensions of 116 x 83 x 54 mm (4.57 x 3.27 x 2.13″) and weighs 352 g (0.78 lb / 12.42 oz) (including batteries). Panasonic G5 has external dimensions of 120 x 83 x 71 mm (4.72 x 3.27 x 2.8″) and weighs 396 g (0.87 lb / 13.97 oz) (including batteries).
Below you can see the front-view size comparison of the Panasonic G100 and the Panasonic G5. Panasonic G100 is 4mm narrower and 17mm thinner than Panasonic G100 but they have the same height of 83mm.
Here is the back view size comparison of the Panasonic G100 and Panasonic G5.
Now lets look at the top view comparison of Panasonic G100 and Panasonic G5.
Weight is another important factor, especially when deciding on a camera that you want to carry with you all day.
Panasonic G100 is 44g lighter than the Panasonic G5 but we don't think this will make a significant difference.
Also keep in mind that body weight is not the only deciding factor when comparing two interchangeable camera bodies, you also have to take into account the lenses that you will be using with these bodies. Since both Panasonic G100 and Panasonic G5 have the same Micro Four Thirds lens mount and Four Thirds sized sensors, lenses will not be a differentiator on total size of the system.
Weather Sealing
Unfortunately neither the Panasonic Lumix DC-G100 nor Panasonic Lumix DMC-G5 provides any type of weather sealing in their bodies, so you have to give extra care especially when you are shooting outdoors. If weather sealing is a must-have feature for you, check these sections: Top Mirrorless Cameras with Weather Sealing
