In this review, we will be comparing the V-Lux 40 and the V-Lux 30, two Small Sensor Superzoom cameras by Leica. Leica V-Lux 40 was introduced to the market in May 2012 and Leica V-Lux 30 was launched in May 2011. There is 12 months difference between V-Lux 40 and V-Lux 30 so we don't expect to see a huge technology difference between these two cameras but it would still give an advantage to younger V-Lux 40, especially in sensor tech.
V-Lux 40 and V-Lux 30 are members of Leica's V-Lux series of cameras. Below you can find the latest models from this series.
Here is a brief look at the main features of the Leica V-Lux 40 and Leica V-Lux 30 before getting into our more detailed comparison.
Let's read on in the following sections in order to better understand in detail how the Leica V-Lux 40 and Leica V-Lux 30 compare and hopefully end up with enough arguments to decide which one is better for you.
